What the project can include
- Validate the offer: a clear customer problem, competing prices and realistic delivery promise
- Check suppliers: identity, samples, quality, tracking, packaging and an agreed return address
- Map responsibilities: seller of record, product safety, customer support, import charges and refunds
- Set up the store: accurate product copy, payments, order notices, privacy and delivery information
- Track profitability: acquisition cost, refunds, fulfilment failures and cash required before payouts
Illustrative project
Before advertising a supplier-shipped product, place a test order and measure its actual arrival and condition. Model a refund and a delayed payout. When selling on Amazon, follow its dropshipping policy and seller-of-record requirements. A supplier shipping the parcel does not remove your duties to customers.
From idea to delivery
- Brief: define users, current tools, country and desired result.
- Scope: agree deliverables, fee, responsibilities and acceptance criteria in writing.
- Build: review a working first version and test the important journeys.
- Handover: document ownership, access, updates and any agreed support.
What to include in your enquiry
Your sector and country, target users, current tools, one example of the problem, approximate budget and preferred timing. You do not need a technical specification to start.
The scope is assessed individually. Provider subscriptions, paid data, advertising and app-store fees are separate unless included in the written offer. Delivery dates and ongoing support are agreed before work begins.
